“PAC would no longer tolerate late payment”---Builsa South MP

The practices of Public Institutions rushing to pay back monies misappropriated, when the Public Account Committee (PAC) writes to them, after the Auditor General presents its report to the House would be a thing of the past.

Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak revealed in an interview with ghanamps.com
“We would not accept this practice in the future that they go to pay only when they know they are going to appear before PAC”.

He lamented and question, “if you knew you were going to pay back, why do you wait to be served notice you go and do what you are supposed to do”?

The Committee is currently in the Brong Ahafo Region after taking the Audited reports of District Assemblies, pre-tertiary institutions in the Northern, Upper East and West Regions.

Dr. Clement Apaak further revealed the Committee would bring its work to a close on Saturday the 24th of February 2018 and head back to Accra to prepare for the remaining Regions.

The Committee is yet to decide on Volta, Eastern, Central, Western and the Greater Accra Region, he said.
