Speaker urged MPs to attach seriousness to business of the House

Speaker of Parliament Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye has admonished lawmakers on both sides of the House to attach seriousness to business of the House despite the fact that some sizeable number of experienced lawmakers would not come back to the next Parliament.

According to him those who win today could lose some day and those who have won should prepare to lose one day as is the nature of the game.

He further urged politicians to be mindful and circumspect in all they say and do in the political season the nation finds itself.

“We should learn to cool our followers down so that they understand the enterprise of politics  in itself is good for the political hemisphere, being out of Parliament does not mean you are not going to serve this is for both the Majority and Minority”.

Professor Oquaye urged lawmakers on both sides of the House to work hard, and being out of Parliament does not mean they would not be fortunate to serve in government if luck smile on them and their parties come to power.
