Votes Obtained: 16,615 votes out of the 26,463 valid votes cast = 62.79%. Others: Francis Kingsley Ato Codjoe (NPP) 9,395 = 35.50%, Francis Paine Atta (PPP) 353 = 1.26% and Ahmed Kaleem Anderson (NDP) 120 = 0.45%.

ECONOMY

Pineapple production is the main farming activity in the constituency. Other agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits are produced on large scale in the constituency. Fishing is another economic activity carried out by the people especially along the coastal areas.  
Salt mining is done on large scale at Suprodo and Narkwa. Other communities such as Srafa Aboana, Srafa Kokodo, Srafa Mpoano and Ekumpoano are also engaged in small scale salt mining. 
 
Trading, which is an important economic activity is carried out virtually in every area in the constituency with Essuehyia as a major focal point and involves agricultural products and other merchandise.  
 
There are large deposits of quality clay for the construction industry found in the constituency.  there are clay factories located at Akwakrom and Otabanadze producing clay products for the housing and ceramic industry.
 
TOURISM ATTRACTIONS
 
The constituency abounds in several tourists attractions prominent among are the undeveloped beaches located at Narkwa, Arkra and Emissano. The od fort at Otuam is another attraction for visitors. 
 
MONKEY SANCTUARIES LOCATED AT EBIRAM AND ASAMAN HAVE BEAUTIFUL SPECIES OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS. 
 
THE EKUMFI PEOPLE IN GENERAL CELEBRATE AKWANBO FESTIVAL WHICH LITERALLY MEANS PATH CLEARING FROM AUGUST TO SEPTEMBER AND A COLOURFUL ABOAKYIR (DEER HUNTING) FESTIVAL CELEBRATED BY THE PEOPLE OF NANABEN BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER EVERY YEAR ATTRACTS PEOPLE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE TO THE CONSTITUENCY.
 
LOCATION AND SIZE
 
THE EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY IS LOCATED ALONG THE ATLANTIC COASTLINE OF THE CENTRAL REGION OF GHANA AND EXTENDS FROM LATITUDES 0.916451OW, 5.367043ON AND LONGITUDES 0.925398OW, 5.424463ON. THE CONSTITUENCY IS BOUNDED TO THE WEST BY EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY, TO THE NORTH BY AJUMAKO ENYAN ESSIAM CONSTITUENCY AND, TO THE EAST BY GOMOA WEST CONSTITUENCY AND TO THE SOUTH BY THE GULF OF GUINEA.
 
TOPOGRAPHY AND DRAINAGE
 
THE EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY IS BASICALLY A LOW-LYING AREA WITH LOOSE QUATERNARY SANDS. THE AREA HAS AN ELEVATION LOWER THAN 60M ABOVE SEA LEVEL. ALONG THE COASTS ARE CRETACEOUS—EOCENE MARINE SANDS WITH THIN PEBBLY SANDS AND SOME LIMESTONE. THE CONSTITUENCY CONSISTS OF UPPER AND LOWER BIRIMIAN ROCKS AND INTRUSIVE TARKWAIAN ROCKS. THESE ROCKS HAVE METALLOGENETIC MATERIALS (METALS), WHICH INCLUDE PRECIOUS METALS, LIGHT METALS AND BASE METALS SUCH AS TALC AND DIAMONDS.
 
THE RIVERS NARKWA AND EMISSA DRAIN INTO THE SEA VIA THE NARKWA AND AMISA LAGOONS AT NARKWA AND EMISSANO RESPECTIVELY.
 
CLIMATE
 
THE EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY WITH ITS PROXIMITY TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN HAS MILD TEMPERATURES, WHICH RANGE BETWEEN 24O C AND 280C. IT HAS A RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF ABOUT 70 PER CENT. THE CONSTITUENCY EXPERIENCES DOUBLE MAXIMA RAINFALL WITH PEAKS IN MAY—JUNE AND OCTOBER. ANNUAL TOTALS OF RAINFALL RANGE BETWEEN 90 CM AND 110 CM IN THE COASTAL SAVANNA AREAS AND BETWEEN 110 CM AND 160 CM IN THE INTERIOR CLOSE TO THE MARGIN OF THE FOREST ZONE. THE PERIODS DECEMBER—FEBRUARY AND JULY TO EARLY SEPTEMBER ARE MUCH DRIER THAN THE REST OF THE YEAR.  
 
VEGETATION
 
THIS CONSISTS OF DENSE SCRUB TANGLE AND GRASS, WHICH GROW TO AN AVERAGE HEIGHT OF 4.5 M. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE CONSTITUENCY WAS ONCE FORESTED, BUT HAS BEEN SYSTEMATICALLY DESTROYED THROUGH CENTURIES OF BAD ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES SUCH AS BUSH FIRES AND DEFORESTATION AMONG OTHERS. HOWEVER, POCKETS OF RELATIVELY DENSE FOREST CAN BE FOUND AROUND FETISH GROVES AND ISOLATED AREAS.
