The Deputy Minority Leader, Patricia Appiagei said the success of the 2026 Budget Statement and Fiscal Policy of government as presented by the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson depends on implementation.
She contends that good policies when not well implemented turn to be bad policies, “so implementation is very important”.
Speaking on her expectations as the House commences debate on the budget today , Tuesday, November 18, 2025, she expressed hope that her colleagues would do critical analysis of the budget statement and what it means to the ordinary Ghanaian; what it translates into.
In particular, she disclosed that her interest lies in how the Affirmative Action Law will be implemented. She is looking at how the budget is going to impact the lives of women, children and the vulnerable groups; adding that when these groups are well catered for, Ghana will excel.
In view of this, she expects the government to fulfill the 400 million Cedis allocation to the women’s bank without fail.
