Five kilometers of the entire Kintampo town road is to be upgraded soon.
This was disclosed by the minister of roads and highway, Joe Gidisu when he appeared in parliament today to answer questions on what plans his ministry has to give Kintampo town road a face lift status as municipality.
According to him, the project which is funded by the Government of Ghana has been awarded and the contractor is currently awaiting commencement certificate from the ministry of finance to start the work.
He noted that the main road through Kintampo town on the Kintampo-Techiman which is single carriage way is currently been rehabilitated to asphaltic concrete surfacing under the rehabilitation of the Techiman- Kintampo road which is been funded by African Development Bank (ADB).
He added that another contract is to add a second carriage way to main road to make it dual carriage way.
