Barely 24 hours from now, a lot of the parliamentary candidates vying to represent their constituents in parliament will know their fate.
With the general elections ongoing; presidential and parliamentary concurrently, the fate of who gets to parliament is just few hours after close of voting at 5:00PM.
Two hundred and seventy-six (276) seats from the previous 275 following the creation of the Guan Constituency are up for grabs and candidates from the two leading political parties; the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are usually with high hopes of winning as the two parties have so far dominated the fourth republic both in the legislature and the presidency.
Aside the individual desire by the candidates to get to parliament, the political parties are also keen on having the majority seat in order to control the legislature.
The states are high and events leading to today’s election attest to the fact that none of the parties is ready to leave anything to chance.
