At the time most constituencies in the country are fighting for the establishment of additional senior high schools to cater for the increasing number of qualified graduates from the junior high school, Sekyere Afram Plains cannot even boast of one.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Alex Adomako-Mensah disclosing this o Ghanamps.gov.gh said the situation is uncalled for especially when one considers the level of poverty in the area making it difficult for most parents to send their children to schools in other areas which will have huge financial implications to them.

According to him, the quest for improved literacy rate has to be backed by easy accessibility to education and is happy government has taken the initiative to build two hundred new community senior high schools with special consideration to areas that lack.

Meanwhile, the junior high level is also not completely out of difficulty because there are less than ten (10) junior high schools in the area which are barely enough for the population of children of school going age.

In another development, Mr. Alex Adomako-Mensah called for extension of electricity to communities in the constituency to enhance economic activities as well as enable students to take advantage of the government laptop project to acquire skills in information and communication technology.
