Member of Parliament for Tema East, Titus Glover has appealed to President John Mahama to immediately make nomination for subsequent approval to the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).
According to him, the absence of a substantive Metropolitan Chief Executive has resulted in a situation where programmes and other activities of the assembly have stalled.
President John Mahama has made nominations to the various MMDAs of which some of the nominees have been approved by respective assemblies while others have been unlucky and rejected.
Some of the nominees were fortunate enough to be re-nominated for another them of office; however the former Metropolitan Chief Executive of TMA, Kempis Ofosu Oware did not find favour with the President to be re-nominated.
Speaking on Adom FM on Thursday, Hon. Titus Glover stated that the Coordinating Director who is acting as the MCE lacks the capacity to carry out certain exercises and decisions, a situation that is impeding development in the metropolis.
He said his interaction with the assembly members shows their readiness to work and are only waiting for the President to nominate his representative at the assembly to be passed by the house.
“Mr President, please give us our MCE, whoever you are bringing to TMA must arrive soonest, Tema needs leadership now’’ he said.
