June 3, 2013

Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Ursula Owusu has instituted a fortnightly sanitation programme in her constituency to ensure the area remains clean and also minimize flooding.

The maiden event kicked off on the morning of Saturday 1 June 2013 where the constituents were out in their numbers and with support from Zoomlion desilted choked drains on the Dansoman breach roads which have been left so over a period of time.

Hon. Ursula Owusu stated that her decision to embark on the clean up exercise especially at this time of the rainy season was to prevent the usual situation where chocked drains cause over flooding and in its wake cause damage to life and property.

She noted that it would be unfortunate for leaders in the area including herself to look on unconcerned for needless unfortunate incidents to occur hence her proactive move.

Hon. Ursula Owusu was confident that the initiative will go a long way to ensure an incident free rainy season as is the expectation of all the constituents.
