Needy but brilliant students in the Ahafo Ano South West constituency will soon not have cause to worry their heads over how their school fees are paid as that will be the responsibility of the Member of Parliament for the area.
Hon. Johnson Kweku Adu has decided to establish a scholarship scheme to help fund the education of such students who have ambition of becoming great personalities in the future.
Speaking to Ghanamps.gov.gh, he disclosed that the programme is expected to be launched in September which is the commencement of the new academic year in order to take care of some students who apply for scholarship, adding that he hopes to sponsor about 300 students annually but will start with an initial 200 students from the SHS to tertiary level.
He said the programme will be run with proceeds from his share of the MPs Common Fund and GETFund.
Hon. Johnson Kweku Adu expressed his unwavering commitment to improving the quality of education in the area, saying the youth who are the future leaders without receiving quality education cannot do much in a world which is becoming more competitive by the day.
He assured to give all the needed support within his means to his constituents in terms of education to help the students achieve their various aspirations.
