Members of Parliament have propose the setting up of a committee to decide when it is appropriate for the questions that have been approved by the speaker of parliament Joyce Bamford Addo to be answered on the floor of Parliament.
The MPs complained that most of the questions to be answered by the sector minister unduly delayed the development that they claim that is affecting the smooth running of parliament.
The member of parliament for Manhyia, Matthew Opoku Prempeh who made the suggestion in parliament today said, for instance a question he posed in 2010 had just been answered by the sector minister this week.
He wondered why question to be answered by the minister of finance, Dr. Kwabena Duffour were scheduled for Thursday, a day that cabinet meet which invariably prevents him from appearing in parliament to answer this specific questions.
The minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, on his part said the majority leader should on his part said the majority leader inform the house ahead of the time when there is going to be a cabinet meeting so that questions are not posed to ministers who are cabinet members on that day.
He was on the view that the formation of such a committee will streamline such issues to ensure the effective work of government
