The, NPP’s Director of Communications, Nana Akomea has expressed regret at the incident in which he and Deputy Minister of Tourism, James Agyenin-Boateng, exchanged insults during a Joy FM radio programme, a fortnight ago.

Nana Akomea expressed his remorse last weekend when he appeared on Metro TV Good Morning Ghana programme, explaining that he was unsuccessful in his attempt to avert the developing situation by calling the attention of the host of the programme and the deputy minister.

He said he realized that the use of the offensive language was deliberate and that this provoked his equally offensive response. He noted it was an unfortunate development and it was his hope that it would never happen again in the future.

The two politicians were engaged in a war of words when the Deputy Minister while analyzing an issue ,sort to question the intelligence of the MP, a statement that Nana Akomea took great exception to and demanded a withdrawal from the Deputy Minister which he declined.

Nana Akomea who was incensed by the deputy minister’s refusal immediately interrupted the deputy minister’s comments and said, “You are a stupid fool if you care’’, a statement that he repeated thrice.

The two respected politicians’ conduct on radio, was harshly criticized by the public who thought the two were young role models who should have shown decorum on such a public platform.
