Ghana’s quest to boosting medical tourism can be achieved if the country partners with India considering India’s vast experience in that area.

Member of Parliament for Akim Oda disclosed this in an interview with Ghanamps.com after the Prime Minister of India addressed the Parliament of Ghana on Thursday.

According to him most of the time when India is mentioned what comes across the minds of people is magical powers, but the reality is that India has gone far in the field of medical practice.

“When we talk of India what comes to mind is transplants, treatment of chronic disease; and it is the reason people travel there a lot. So, if we have that collaboration, we can establish health facilities here and can bring their doctors to teach our people. If it is about machines, we can acquire them; when it’s about skills they need to impact us”, he stated as part of some of the benefits Ghana can derive from the friendship between the two countries.

Touching on Parliamentary Associations, the Oda MP believes countries like India should be a perfect association, adding, “we should be partnering countries like India who would respect us for who we are for mutual benefits since they are one of the largest democracies in the world”.

“Again, it is in the right direction that the PM extended invitation to Ghana’s parliament; and we have to put ourselves together to make the best of the opportunity.”
