Ranking member on the Public Account Committee, Samuel Atta-Mills would chair proceedings of the Committee when it starts its public hearing to look at the audited report of the 2024 report.
In an interview with Ghanamps.com a member of the Committee on the Majority side, Braimah Muhammed Bawah pointed out the minority side usually chairs the PAC, and currently in the ninth Parliament Abena Osei- Asare, Member of Parliament for Atiwa East is the chairperson.
However, the report under scrutiny has to do with the previous administration in which she was a minister of state at the finance ministry and the standing orders make provision for the ranking to chair in such a situation.
For transparency and good governance the ranking would have to be in the chair, he noted.
