The Chief Director at the Presidency, Dr. Wayo Abubakari delayed the Public Account Committee for almost an hour when he was nowhere near parliament despite the fact that the normal practice is for him to accompany departments and agencies under him to the public hearing of PAC.
Just after the Defense Ministry took its turn at the Committee hearing, it was the turn of Government machinery; but neither the deputy chief of staff nor the chief director was around for the public hearing to continue.
Chairperson of the Committee Abena Osei-Asare and the Ranking Samuel Atta Mills agreed together with the committee members that they need to hold on for the chief director at the presidency to appear before the Committee before the public hearing could be carried on.
Officials from the Northern Development Authority had to place calls to ensure that the chief director came before the Committee.
The committee did not also take it kindly when officials of the Council of States were not present because they fall under government machinery and have some questions to respond to with regard to infractions for the year ended December 31st, 2024.
As at the time of filling this story, officials from the Council of State around 12:38pm came and apologized for their lateness.
