As part of this year’s Ghana Association of writers and book festival GAWBOFEST, the foundation organized the Up Girl Project, a read and a conversation program. The book in focus is the Talata, the Child Bride, published by Adwinsa Publications Ghana Limited.
The book addresses the issue of child marriage in Ghana, with a particular emphasis on girl child.
The Up Girl Project is one the Duo Concept Foundations’s interventionist programs aimed at empowering youth to make informed decisions through knowledge acquisition and sharing.
The Minster for Employment and Labour,Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Jocelyn Quashie and Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Broadcasting Department, Peter Azameti Bamfo participated in the event.They shared words of wisdom,insightful thoughts, read to the Students and engaged in discussions on how to inform, educate and empower young people to help mitigate if not totally eradicate early child marriages in Ghana.
The Duo Concept Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people through literary projects and engagements.
The foundation also undertakes philanthropic activities aimed at bridging the social gaps among today’s youth.
