The Republic of Ghana is almost at the verge of embarrassing itself by taking out already sworn in third Deputy Speaker Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin from its recomposed list to the Community Parliament.
The Second Extraordinary Session, 2025 of the Economic Community of West African States is slated for Thursday, September 25, 2025, and Ghanamps.com investigation has revealed that the list sent to the Parliament does not have the name of the third deputy speaker who has already been sworn in and cannot be replaced by the dictates of the supplementary Act.
Ghanamps.com reached out to officials of the Community Parliament who are lip-tight and not prepared to comment on the matter.
In the light of this development, Ghana risks not having its new members sworn in.
Further investigation indicates that there has been marathon of meetings to resolve the issue at hand but to no avail and the only solution to averting the problem before 10:00am tomorrow is for Ghana’s Parliament to rectify the list and include the third deputy speaker Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin.
