Chairperson of the Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr has revealed that the Committee after its public hearing of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies’ (MMDAs) Internal Audited Report would take a week to prepare its report to be presented to the House.
According to her when the House resumes from recess in few weeks, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, they would be ready with the report.
In an interview as to when they would embark on their field visit as the Committee noted that some Assemblies were not forthright with the truth before the Committee, the Committee has decided to visit and try to resolve rift between some MMDCEs and their Members of Parliament as well as very some of their answers provided at the hearing.
“It would be soon; we are Mr. Speakers’ Committee and got our powers from the Speaker; when we present our report, he would give us the go ahead to move out, so we would be waiting on the Speaker’s directives”.
