James Agalga, Member of Parliament for Builsa South has expressed disappoint at the Minority for stagging a walkout during the vetting of the Chief Justice Nominee, Justice Baffoe Boonnie on Monday, November 10, 2025.
He opined that the Minority only came to the vetting to score political points. “What is this thing about pending of cases at the court? They went to court and lost. In the first case, they wanted to injunt the process of appointing a CJ and failed. At that point I was thinking they would see reason and participate in the vetting of the CJ nominee but decided to do otherwise. They then decided that rather than sit in there and vet a distinguish CJ and see him do well, they will rather stage a walkout and make it look like the vetting was one sided.”
“You saw how well he performed, his knowledge of the law and experience; hence the walkout was shameful. You cannot question his experience; they must stop playing politics with things that are found in law. The CJ was nominated according to the law and procedure; you cannot fault any of that so if you decided to stage a walkout for the judiciary to have a vacuum all because you have filed a process at the court it does not make sense. You cannot injunct the president from performing his constitutional duties.
