The Minority in Parliament have sent a strong signal to the government to resist the quest to rerun the Kpandai Parliamentary election.

The Minority Caucus in Parliament on Tuesday came to the House dressed in black attires with placards chanting “No third term” in protest for the vacant seat declaration by Parliament.

it is their resolve to use every legal means to block the rerun of the Kpandai election as directed by the Tamale High Court on November 24, 2025.

“Kpandai must stop, Kpandai must stop; we want peace, Mahama, we want peace, Mahama”, they chanted.

It is the believe of the Minority that President Mahama, and for that matter the government was deliberately scheming to ensure President Mahama is pushed to have a third term by reducing their number in parliament.

The Minority’s numerical strength of 88 was reduced to 87, when they failed to secure back the Akwatia seat after the demise of the NPP MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi.

If the Kpandai seat also slip through their hands it will be disastrous.
