A stakeholder engagement on the Public Financial Management (Amendment) Bill, 2026, has been held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, bringing together representatives from government institutions, civil society organisations, financial experts, and development partners.
The session was led by the sponsor of the amendment, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, who outlined the rationale behind the proposed reforms.
He noted that the Bill seeks to strengthen fiscal discipline, enhance transparency in the management of public funds, and address gaps identified in the implementation of the existing law.
