India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, says it is natural for countries of the Global South to pool their experiences and support one another.
He spoke after bilateral talks with Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during which Ghana and India signed two agreements—one on Agricultural Research and Training and another on Biodiversity.
Jaishankar said the two countries are also exploring expanded cooperation in pharmaceuticals and health, mining, defence, railways, and digital technology.
He praised Ghana’s long-standing and vibrant Indian community, describing the Indian business community as a living bridge between the two countries.
The Indian minister noted that recent months have seen major Indian investment commitments in Ghana’s pharmaceutical and medical sector, poultry sector, and renewable energy sector.
According to him, both countries believe the partnership will help strengthen resilience, promote inclusion, and ensure that growth delivers for the people.
