The Buem Constituency in the Oti Region is experiencing a significant infrastructure transformation as the government continues to inject resources into various sectors of the local economy.

In a bid to fulfill developmental promises and improve the living standards of residents, Mr. Kofi Adams, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem, together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Jasikan Municipal Assembly, Mr. Parke-Davis Magyigbe, have commissioned a series of newly completed projects across the municipality.

The commissioning exercise, which took place recently, saw the official handover of critical facilities aimed at boosting healthcare delivery, education, and access to potable water.

Among the key projects inaugurated were a newly constructed Accident and Emergency Ward, designed to enhance emergency medical response and reduce the burden on referrals to larger facilities outside the region. The health sector also received a boost with the commissioning of new CHPS (Community-based Health Planning and Services) compounds to bring healthcare closer to rural communities.

In the educational sector, the MP and MCE commissioned an ultra-modern ICT Center, equipped to provide students with essential digital skills in the modern era. Additionally, several 3-unit and 6-unit classroom blocks were handed over to various schools, a move expected to decongest overcrowded classrooms and provide a conducive learning environment for pupils.

Residents also heaved a sigh of relief as mechanized boreholes were commissioned to address water scarcity issues in Jasikan and its surrounding areas. The boreholes are expected to provide clean and safe drinking water, reducing the prevalence of waterborne diseases.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kofi Adams reiterated the government’s commitment to the development of the Buem Constituency, stating that the projects are a testament to the administration’s focus on grassroots development. He urged the community members to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance.

On his part, MCE Parke-Davis Magyigbe praised the collaborative effort between the legislative and executive arms of government, noting that the projects would serve as a catalyst for economic growth and improved social welfare in the Jasikan Municipality.
