Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah has said today Friday, January 15, 2021 the Rt. Honorable Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin in his ruling would put to an end the issue of who should rightfully occupy the Majority side of the 8th Parliament.
According to him he is aware behind the scenes there has been talking and it is for the independent candidate, Andrew Amoako Asiamah to decide which side he would belong and he is aware he has written to belong to the NPP side of the House.
As early as 3:00am today, Ghanamps.com picked signals from officials from Parliament that the NPP side were in the House.
In an interview as to whether the MPs can sustain coming to the House early as there has been complains in the previous Parliament of MPs not reporting early, the Akim Oda MP noted that it is not meant to be sustained.
As the ruling of Speaker would settle the issue today, and added that today’s case is exceptional and they had to come early as they knew what happened the last time January 7, 2021 when they had to elect the Speaker.
“We are very convinced we are in the Majority and we had to make efforts to occupy the seats and we hope we would have peace on the floor when this issue is settled”.
