Minister for health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu has said the people of Mafi-Kumasi would next year have an upgraded polyclinic which would be factored in the proposed budget.

According to the Minister, the Health Ministry is aware of the population growth and as part of their policy expect that a wider service package would be provided than is being done with the current health centre.

Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze who posed the question wanted an assurance from the Minister, that the Health Centre would be captured in next year’s budget.

The Minister was  quick to point out that he could not give assurance because of the budgetary process, but he would submit the Ministry’s programme to the Ministry of Finance with Mafi-Kumasi and other areas in mind, but left for Parliament to give approval.

“I would have no option to approve when Parliament gives the green light and I would let a team visit Mafi-Kumasi Health Centre”, he said.
