Some residents of the new Ashongman Estate in the Dome/Kwabenya constituency are calling for the constituency to be splinted into two to ensure efficient running saying it is too large for a single MP to run efficiently.

Their calls come in the wake of bad nature of their roads and efforts to get it fix with several appeals not yielding any good results.

Residents of New Ashongman Estate have complained of the bad nature of their roads, Deputy Majority leader Sarah Adwoa Safo is the Member of Parliament for the area.

Mr. Joseph Kojo Aseidu a resident of New Ashongman Estate in an interview with Ghanamps.com indicated that an untarred road linking Ashongman Estate to Ashaiman and Pokuasi, not attended to for the past nine years if fix will address the traffic situation from Atomic Junction right down to Kwabenya and new Ashongman Estate.

He further noted that MP for the area Sarah Adwoa Safo visited the area and promised to get the road fixed but nothing has been done, it is rather getting worse particularly during the raining season.

Drivers avoiding heavy traffic in the morning and evening use this road, “we are told it is an international road, it goes all the way to Ashaiman and all the way to Pokuasi” he said.

Again Dome/Kwabenya is too “big for a single MP” to handle he emphasised and noted that if divided into two it will be better run efficiently.
