The Member for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has said the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Nana Akufo Addo as an MP for Akim Abuakwa was an institution on his own.
According to him, Nana Akufo Addo’s rich and valuable contribution on the floor of Parliament was so great that student of political science could learn from it.
He was responding on Asempa FM’s Ekoo sii sen show, to assertions by some NDC persons that Nana Akufo Addo performed abysmally as an MP for the good people of Akim Abuakwa for twelve years.
Others also claim President John Mahama as MP out-performed Nana Addo who was his colleague in Parliament.
Hon. Kofi Jumah stated that an attempt to compare the contribution of both leaders on the floor of Parliament would be a mis-match as Nana Addo was an articulate MP who was a wonder to listen to whose statement was difficult to ignore or controvert.
” Everyone can go and check the Hanzard from 1997 to 2008 and read the contribution of Akufo Addo which enriched discourse in Parliament during that period” he said.
Hon. Jumah named experienced politician J.H Mensah and Akufo Addo as two MPs whose contribution in the fourth Parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana was second to none.
