For years, the dusty, unpaved stretch of Hotorvowi Street near Antech has been a symbol of neglect for local farmers, turning into a quagmire of mud and frustration during the rainy season. However, that narrative is finally changing as the Member of Parliament for the Anlo Constituency, Richard Kwame Sefe, has commenced construction on the long-demarcated road.
The intervention, which is currently underway, aims to resolve the perennial difficulties that have plagued the farming community. Poor road networks have historically forced farmers to abandon their vehicles at the roadside and carry heavy produce on foot, leading to significant post-harvest losses and inflated transport costs.
Speaking on the progress of the project, Mr. Sefe emphasized that this initiative is not just about asphalt but about restoring dignity to the agricultural heart of Anlo. “This road is a lifeline for our people. By improving access, we are directly reducing the cost of doing business and ensuring that our fresh produce reaches the market in good condition,” he stated.

As the heavy machinery moves in and the foundation is laid, residents have expressed relief, noting that the road will finally provide safe passage for school children, commuters, and the tractors that are essential to the district’s food production.
