The Appointment’s Committee of Parliament is expected to meet this week to set a date to start vetting President Mahama’s nominees for ministerial positions.
President John Mahama last Friday released the first batch of nominees made up of twelve names.
Deputy Majority Leader and Ranking member of the Committee, Alfred Kwame Agbesi told Citi News, the Committee is yet to fix a date for the vetting.
“Every Committee is to meet and discuss its programme. We were expecting the President’s nominee list, but we could not meet on Friday.”
“The Committee will meet, beginning Monday, and discuss its programme. Now that we have the names of nominees, we will know when we will start vetting,” he noted.
“Notices will have to be put out for people who have something to say about the nominees to come [forward] and give any information before we begin sitting and vetting the nominees.”
