The former Mayor of Accra Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije has rallied local assemblies to up their game to ensure accelerated development in their localities.
He asserts that if Ghanaians do not see development at the various Assemblies and communities under the current government led by John Dramani Mahama then their queening to vote for change becomes useless.
According to him that cannot be Ghanaians voted for change and that in principle means development day in day out and for the people they have responsibility to ensure there is development.
In an interview the former Accra Mayor said the expectation is that the chief executives at the Assembly levels will make a difference and expressed optimism that they will deliver.
“That is where the development is, and we do not have excuse. This is a new era, they have been appointed, sworn in; they have to go to work, they have works to do at the grassroot”.
He assured that as MPs, they will join hands with the Assembly members to work at the grass root giving meanings to the change they voted for.
