The Minister of Works and Housing, Alban Bagbin, has told Citi News that the government of Ghana may soon disengage from the STX housing deal.
The two partners – STX Korea and STX Ghana – have been fighting over who takes charge of the project which is meant to build 30,000 housing units for public and security officials.
“The government of Ghana could disengage from the STX project… it’s a possibility,” Mr. Bagbin told Citi News on Thursday.
The minister had earlier served notice through Citi News that the feuding parties may pay for any costs incurred by Ghana if they failed to resolve their differences and start the project.
A Commercial Court on Wednesday awarded a cost of GHc 3,000 against GKA Airports, the local partners of STX Korea, after filing a suit praying the court to declare the Korean counterparts as non shareholders.
