Mr Yusif Sulemana, Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi in the Northern region has described the late Bolewura Awuladese PontonprongII as a man of humility, fairness, bravery and knowledge with great leadership traits who served his people and country well until his demise into eternity.
According to him the late Bolewura was a strong advocate in the fight against the galamsey menace in his traditional area and was very much interested in Parliamentary work.
The Bole Bamboi MP disclosed these in a statement on the floor of Parliament.
According to him the late Bolewura who was a member of the Constituent Assembly in 1968 subsequently became a Member of Parliament for the then West Gonja Constituency on the ticket of the Progress Party from 1969 to 1972 and later joined the Judiciary as a Magistrate.
The late Bolewura known in private life as James AdamaMahama was born in 1929 to the Jagape Royal Gate of the Bole Traditional area.
The Mandariwura is the successor to the Bolewura according to customs and tradition of Bole hence in March, 2013, Mandariwura James AdamaMahama became Bolewura with the skin name AwuladesePontonprongII.
Hon YusifSulemana has therefore appealed to the Gonja Traditional Council and all stakeholders to ensure a befitting funeral for the late ruler and manage the succession process in a peaceful manner.
