Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central constituency in Upper East region, Isaac Adongo has chided the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led Government’s inability to manage the economy efficiently following the extension of the IMF deal.

According to him, the decision by the government to extend Ghana’s contract with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) against its own initial stand is an indication that the NPP can’t manage the economy.

He noted that the decision is an admission by the government that it really needs the guidance of the fund to manage the economy properly whiles giving the country more credibility for potential investors.

Both the President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori- Atta and other government officials have variously stated that government would not extend the programme after it ended on December 2018.

However the IMF after its fourth review announced the extension of the programme by one more year and subsequently approved a $94.2 million disbursement.
