Children in Tomefa, a rural community in the newly created Bortianor Ngleshie-Amanfrom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region wake up each morning with a mindset of absenting themselves from school because they had lived all these years with no access to public schools.

The plight of the children further worsens as they cross the Weija Dam on daily basis to neighboring towns to enjoy services from such facilities.

Hon. Bright Edward Kodzo, MP for Bortianor Ngleshie-Amanfrom who made this know in an interview with Ghanamps.gov.gh revealed that the community was illegally settled along the Weija Dam making it difficult for any government project to be executed there.

He continued that he has put contingency measures in place to purchase an outboard motor engineered boat from his share of the MPs common fund to help ferry school children across dam to and from school.

Meanwhile information available to us has it that the Ga South Municipal Assembly is putting measures in place to properly settle the community and provide house numbers so that social amenities could be extended to the area.
