A Kumasi High Court has thrown out a case filed by some 22 New Patriotic Party(NPP) delegates in the Manhyia North constituency in the Ashanti region seeking to injunct the nomination of Collins Owusu Amankwah as candidate.

The plaintiffs filed a motion praying the court to set aside the party’s primary in an attempt to block the nominee’s chances of filing nominations with the Electoral Commission(EC) as the elected candidate in the upcoming Parliamentary polls.

But the presiding Judge, Justice Obeng Diewuo, threw out the application today.

Lawyer for the accused has thus asked the court to slap the plaintiffs each with a fine of GHS 100 for the damage caused.

The court will sit again on Friday, September 23 for the hearing to begin.
