The Deputy ranking on the Health Committee Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom is advocating for government’s support for West Africa pharmaceutical giant, Entrance Pharmaceuticals in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of making Ghana a sub-regional pharmaceutical hub.

According to him Government alone cannot address the pharmaceutical needs of the nation and if the private sector is complementing it’s a very good development.

“Entrance Pharmaceuticals if the company has thousand staff strength, then if given all the necessary support and the company expands, I am sure they can employ more Ghanaians; they are the few entrepreneurs who would need support to help the heath sector”, he noted in an interview.

Dr. Boakye-Yiadom further noted that as a committee this is not their first time visiting the company; and as a company they know the future the company holds and they would advocate to ensure their challenges are addressed, especially the road leading to the factory.

“We are going to take this up; and they also talk about some neighboring sub-regional countries owing them, if they pay them, they would be able to do more”, he emphasised.
