The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, said Ghanaians should expect nothing new with the current administration being led by President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, both President John Mahama and his Vice, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur are incapable of solving the economic problems which have bedeviled the country because “what worsens the case is the Governor who supervised the depreciation of our Cedi has become his Vice President. They can’t do anything.”

He asked: “When John Mahama went to Cape Coast, he said he has been the fortunate, the luckiest Vice President because President Mills gave him the latitude to operate. He was the chairman of the Economic Management Team so if there is almost a 100 percent depreciation in the Cedi, what was he doing?”

He was speaking to Citi FM Eastern Regional Correspondent, Kwame Appiah Kubi on the sidelines of the launch of the NPP’s campaign in the Upper West Akyem District.

On the issue of judgment debts, Mr. Agyapong accused the ruling NDC of robbing the state of some critical resources needed for development because of its inability to retrieve monies paid as judgment debts to certain individuals and institutions.

Mr. Agyapong told Citi News, he has documents to show that Waterville, the company at the center of the Woyome scandal, has been paid.

He said: “I can prove with documents that the US$ 35 million have been paid fully. The government of Ghana doesn’t owe Waterville so why should they pay that kind of money? Do you know what that money could have done for Ghanaians?”

Mr. Agyapong also mentioned that “Allah, you think the NDC will be there for 100 years? That is why they brought about the Public Accounts Committee. It’s a disgrace.”
