The Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Freda Prempeh has commended the Ministry of Agric on their innovative efforts of opening outlets where farm produce are cart farm the farming centres to the cities.

She said the initiative would help bring down prices of food products particularly those grown locally as people are taking undue advantage of the economic situation to make exorbitant returns by increasing prices astronomically.

Madam Freda Prempeh said it is about time something is done about the price control system in Ghana, and the tasked the Ministry of Trade and Industry to take that up to ensure people conform.

She believes what the Agric Ministry has started doing is healthy and would ensure there is some competition in pricing which would push prices downwards.

She admitted things are tough at the moment but noted that it is a global phenomenon, and assured that the president has outlined some measures to deal with current economic meltdown and Ghanaians should rest assured that things would improve soon.
