Member of Parliament for Garu, Akuka Albert Alalzuuga, and the opposition National Democratic Congress’s, Parliamentary Candidate for the December 7, 2020 presidential and Parliamentary elections, has urged party supporters to rally behind him as the party’s candidate for the upcoming elections.
According to him the party supporters should throw their full weight behind him and no other person who is going as independent candidate.
At a media briefing on Friday, October 16, 2020 after adjournment of the House, he urged party supporters not to have any dissenting views as there are moves by the former MP who had enjoy the support of the party for a five term to go independent.
And added that whoever has an issue should use the party structures to address grievances and the issue of people going independent haven lost the parliamentary primaries has caught the attention of the party.
“The person we are talking about has benefited from the unity of the party supporting him for twenty years, if he is listening he should fall in line, the party has approached him and I am leaving it for the party to take a decision on that”.
He used the opportunity to thank the media in parliament for conveying to Ghanaians work done by MPs, and appeal to the people of Garu to remember his good works within the four years he has been in parliament.
He said over twenty-five classrooms have been provided and while the health sector also saw some fourteen chip compounds that led to improved health delivery in the area when he was the former District Chief Executive of the area. He said he has also supported three hundred students at the tertiary level, while many roads were also constructed under the former President John Dramani Mahama.
“I urge them to vote me back to continue with my work of serving them in parliament, so that we can continue with the good job I am doing for the party. The unity of the party is very crucial, they should vote massively for me”.
And added that, John Mahama is coming back and a lot of development projects started and not yet completed would be done like their irrigation project and housing facility would be provided for the Day Secondary school completed by the former president.
