Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, has said government recognizes health workers as the pillar of the economy and is poised to improve their well-being.

He said it takes people who are healthy to grow the economy and commended health workers for their contribution towards national development.

Mr Buah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Energy, said this when addressing health workers of the Saint Martin’s de Porres Hospital during a health feast at Eikwe in the Ellembelle District.

The event which formed part of an end of year get-together, was organized by the MP to reward the efforts of health personnel in the district.He expressed gratitude to the workers for their immense contribution towards health care delivery in the district and urged them to continue to do their best.

Madam Elizabeth Corney, District Health Director of Ellembelle, thanked the MP for organizing the feast adding that pregnancy schools organized by the directorate had helped to reduce maternal deaths in the area.

Mr Daniel K. Eshun, the District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, gave the assurance that the district, the MP and other stakeholders would pool their resources together in the quest to ensure a sustainable health delivery in the area.
