The government has presented its formal policy document for a proposed 24-hour economy to Parliament. The document has been referred to the Committee on Economy and Development for review.
The committee will now consider the details of the plan and report back to the full House for a final decision on its approval.
During the presentation, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga acknowledged the persistent calls for the document from the Ranking Member on the Committee, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who is also the MP for Ofoase Ayirebi.
The policy aims to outline the framework for extending economic activity and essential services around the clock, a key pledge in the government’s economic strategy.
