The Member of Parliament for Adaklu Governs Kwame Agbodza has taken a swipe at the Minority for walking out after the Speaker Rt. Hon Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin admonished that it is wrong to call for a bye-election when the electoral Commission has not given indications of that.

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga raised the issue on the floor of the House for guidance since he has received calls asking when the bye-election in Akwatia would take place because the NPP on social media, the wife of the late MPs posters are already out.

After the Speaker ruled out the Majority Leader, he pointed out that until the clerk writes to the EC, there could not be any announcement declaring the seat vacant.

The Roads and Highways Minister Governs Agbodza did not take kindly to the Minority walkout and drew the attention of the first deputy speaker Bernard Ahiafor that the Speaker had already ruled on the matter and there was no need for the minority to walk out.

“Immediately the Rt. Hon Speaekr left, our colleagues walked out. This is very disrespectful to the Rt. Hon Speaker and what the Minority Leader did was not right” he emphasised.
