Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has called on Leader of Government Business, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonus to haul three sector Ministers including Aviation, Health and Foreign Affairs to brief Parliament on measure being taken to evacuate Ghanaian Students in China.

According to him when the virus first broke the Majority Leader indicated to the House that government was following and if matters get out of hand there would be a briefing on the way forward.

“We do know the matter has gotten out of control, forty-eight countries have reported that they have the virus including Nigeria and the South African President has plans to evacuate one hundred and thirty-three of its nationals”.

He further pointed out that other countries are imposing flight restrictions as they have moved beyond medical preparedness; “our Ministers of Health, Aviation, Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration should be able to alert us on measures being taken to evacuate our students and respond to the current threat”.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has put up a publication that Ghana is on their watch list as one of the countries that can get the coronavirus in Africa, and he pointed out that the House should take some positive steps.
