The Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah, has urge the Foreign Minister of Egypt Hon. Sameh Shoukry, to help Ghana develop its Aviation Sector for both Countries to compete with major airlines like the British airways and KLM.

Mr. Sameh Shoukry, who was in Ghana for a three day official duties, paid a curtsey call on Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament RT Hon. Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye in Parliament House on Wednesday 10th of May 2017.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei Central, recounted the challenges Ghana has faced with its National carrier and remarked that Egypt air has a stronger setup and bigger fleet size hence partnership with Ghana will go a long way to  help both Countries.

The Deputy Minister for Water and Sanitation further noted that, as part of boosting the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s vision in agriculture, he called on Egypt’s Foreign Minister to partner with Ghana base on the vast experience success Egypt has in the agriculture industry.

In addition, Hon Patrick Yaw Boamah urge the Foreign Minister to intervene by  helping  an Egyptian  company Euro-project,  engage in building nine (9)  hospitals in Ghana but is  facing some challenges despite the success it has attain in building some hospitals.

“Since 2008 the districts that are supposed to benefit from building of these hospitals have not yet benefited and is an issue of concern to Ghana’s, with your good officers I hope this issue will be resolved”, he said.

He again invited the Foreign Minister to come back to Ghana and watch how Ghana will beat the Egyptian National team to qualify for the world cup in Russia.

On his part, Mr. Shoukry, Foreign Minister of Egypt said he recognize the health competition in football between his Country and Ghana, and further noted that players from both Countries contribute a lot in the various foreign clubs the play in. he also stated that, whenever Egypt is not playing Ghana, Egyptian’s turn to support Ghana showing the friendship that exist between both Countries.

He noted that there is the need for greater cooperation in the aviation industry, as Egypt air celebrates its 85 anniversary and has ambitious plan to expand its fleets. And also emphasis the need to partner Ghana create an aviation hub in the in the West sub Region.

And promise to look into what the difficulties are in the delay of Euroject delivering 9 hospitals in some districts in Ghana. As Egyptian investors will further seek interest in Ghana to see how both Countries will benefit economically.
