Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina and Minister in charge of Zongo and Inner City, Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface, has said he does not need official vehicle before he start working as a Minister, “I have started working and I move around with my own car”.

He made this know when a group of Journalist in Parliament sort to know, if the absence of official vehicle is hindering his work as a Minister, because he has been using his four wheel drive for official assignments.

“It is natural when we have a new Ministry, I hope when things normalize the Ministry will get vehicles, we are following the Presidents directives to stop purchase of cars when the embargo is lifted we will get vehicles”.
As to whether the Ministry has not been neglected, despite the Ministry being one of the flagship campaign promise of the current, Mr. Saddique Boniface dismissed that assertion saying, “I will not have brought the Zongo Development Fund Bill, 2017 before Parliament which has gone through second reading”.

The name of the Bill, “Zongo Development Fund is enough to get me vehicle, I am not much concerned about lavished type of life, I am a simple man serving my nation what is important to me” he said.

According to the Zongo and Inner City Minister, when he needs financial support, “I put in a request and the Ministry of Finance is there to support”.

Again there are projects that will come along with vehicles an example is the Inner City, “I  have engaged the World Bank we are in talks very soon there will be funds with operational vehicles which will be at the disposal of officials at the Ministries, they will use and give out their best”.
