The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Nii Nortey Dua, has expressed confidence of retaining his position as the Presidential candidate for the constituency by winning the impending constituency election this weekend.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday 21st January will hold elections across the country in constituencies where there are sitting Members of Parliament.

The incumbent MP, who went unopposed during the party’s primaries in 2008, went on to win the Ledzokuku seat in the national election in 2008 by over 11,000 votes.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Eko si sen programme on Wednesday about his chances in the impending election, Hon. Nii Nortey Dua who is also the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports stated that his good works as the MP for the area put him in pole position to win the election.

He said even though he is not complacent he knows the development he has brought to the constituency will win him massive votes to enable him continue with his good works in the constituency.

Hon. Nii Nortey Dua, urged his supporters and delegates to go out and vote convincingly for him to make his dream of bringing development to the area and also improving the living conditions of the constituents a reality.

He however pleaded with whoever he has wronged in the constituency to forgive him and put the issues behind them to ensure peace and development in Ledzokuku.
