“I would vote yes for the creation of Oti region”-Buem MP

Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem constituency, Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah has said when the process of creating new region is followed and the electoral commission is set with the process of referendum, he would vote “yes for the creation of Oti region”.

He pointed out, both his party the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) put it in their manifestoes for creation of the new regions.

“Carving Oti region does not mean we are outside Ghana, Ghanaians from all part of the country can come to the Oti region to work and example is the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) vice chancellor hailing from the Eastern Region”

Again my decision on the creation of Oti region would not change. I have been consistent with my point on this issue, there are people with different views.

“There is not easy walk to freedom, the one who succeeds it is the one who takes the challenge to work hard, my father Richard Ashiaman was part of those who were championing the creation of the Oti region”, he pointed out in an interview.
