Former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Joseph Yieleh Chireh said when former President John Dramani Mahama emerges as flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), he is in the best position to unite the Party.
According to the Wa West legislator, over the years when the party has had multiple candidates, they all came together after the flagbearership race.
He added that the fact that someone is offering himself does not mean the other person should not try, “whoever wins needs the support of John, when John wins needs the rest on board, those of us MPs who endorse John they have to come to us too”, he said.
Mr. Joseph Yieleh Chireh further said MPs who have endorsed the former President are not saying there shouldn’t be election, the loss of John was the loss of NDC, more mud would be thrown at John.
