The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has told Parliament that, Mr Fred Kwarteng a Ghanaian I.T officer at Ghana’s Embassy in Washington (USA) was illegally making a total of $4.8 million Dollars annually through his unauthorized activities.
He explained that, before he took over as a minister, Mr Kwarteng had illegally created his own company in delivering courier and other online services on behalf of the embassy which and various charges all in Dollars to his personal account.
Mr Okudzeto further said, he took the steps to call for an investigation into the illegal activities of Mr Kwarteng for which a lot of rot were revealed with respect to Mr. Kwarteng’s illegal activities which led to the closure of the Country’s Embassy in Washington, USA.
The Foreign and Regional Integration Minister disclosed this when he made a statement on the floor of the House on his action on the Washington Embassy, as Members of Parliament requested that he brief the House on the closure of Ghana’s Embassy in the USA.
