Member of Parliament for Twifo AttiMorkwa Abraham Dwuma Odoom has underscored the urgent need for Ghana to learn from the good example of Chinese natural and herbal medicine which has gained popularity in the world due to its healing potency.
He has therefore urged for the need for Ghana to give priority attention to natural health research work due to the numerous advantages from natural sources of medicine.
Mr Abraham Odoom appealed to stakeholders in the health sector to identify one Oheneba Ntim who is a natural health researcher and an advocate for the use of herbs and fruits to heal the human body for assistance.
According to him, it is time for society to go back toBiblical admonition for society to make use of healing seeds to heal the body.
These he noted would help avoid high health bills in health services, make citizens healthierand help Ghanaians to be very productive.
The TwifoAttiMorkwa lawmaker made these remarks on the floor of Parliament in a contribution to a statement on the management of Sickle cell disease in Ghana.
The MP is a member of the House Committee and Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee of Parliament.
